Dodson to be inducted into Indiana Football Hall of Fame

Roger Dodson, formerly the head football coach at Greenfield-Central High School, will be one of five inductees into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame.

The Region 8 Hall of Fame Committee of the Indiana Football Coaches Association announced its five inductees, three coaches and two players, on Wednesday.

Dodson has over 40 years of head coaching experience, including leading the Cougars from 2006-2015. He was also head coach at Franklin Community and Indian Creek. He amassed over 100 career wins during his time as a head coach.

His coaching career started as an assistant coach at Roncalli from 1977-79. He returned to Roncalli in 2022 as an assistant coach, his 45th year coaching high school football.

Dodson will be inducted with two other coaches, current Whiteland High School head coach Darrin Fisher and current Center Grove assistant coach Joe Siderewicz.

Fisher has 30 years of head coaching experience and has coached the Warriors since 2005. He led the Warriors to a Class 5A state runner-up finish in 2022 and has an overall record of 130-72 as a head coach.

Siderewicz, is the son of the late Hall of Fame Coach Bill Siderewicz. Joe Siderewicz was an assistant for his dad at Martinsville High School for 15 years before being the head coach of the Artesians for six seasons. He has spent the last 14 seasons as an assistant coach at Center Grove.

Two players will be inducted.

AJ Edds, who played from 2002-05 at Greenwood High School, was a four-time all-conference tight end and linebacker and an all-state selection in 2004 and 2005.

He went on to play outside linebacker at the University of Iowa, where he was a second team All-Big 10 selection in 2009. He played in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins for five seasons after being a fourth-round draft choice in 2010.

Brett Law played at Sheridan High School from 1986-1989. He played for Hall of Fame coach Bud Wright and helped lead the Blackhawks to Class 1A state titles in 1987 and 1988.

He set state and national rushing records as a running back and was the Gatorade and USA Today Indiana Player of the Year in 1989. He played collegiately at Indiana University and was named Big 10 Player of the Week on Sept. 28, 1992 after a 240-yard rushing performance against Missouri. He was named to the All-Big 10 Academic Team three times (1992-94).
