The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection reports.

Jan. 24

Tony D’s

5918 Dragon Drive, New Palestine

Violations found: NC – ice scoop at ice machine in kitchen needs to be stored in clean, protected manner, corrected; C – shell eggs and egg mixture on cart with ice are above 41 degrees, while gravy, green beans and mashed potatoes in hot holding unit are below 135 degrees, corrected; NC – when thawing raw meats under running water, thawed portions cannot rise above 41 degrees, corrected.

Violations found: C, R – queso cheese sauce below 135 degrees, corrected; NC – no ice scoop at drive-through window, corrected; NC, R – floor is coming up in walk-in cooler, to be corrected by Feb. 15; NC, R – ice build-up on floor in corner of walk-in freezer, to be corrected by Feb. 15; NC – some debris on ceiling in food prep area and above small section at front counter, to be corrected by Feb. 3.
