HANCOCK COUNTY — Part of CR 200N is slated to close next week for work to begin on a roundabout at Mt. Comfort Road.
CR 200N will be closed between Mt. Comfort Road and the entrance to KOA Holiday to the east. Those traveling west on CR 200N will not be able to reach another crossroad past CR 525W. The official detour is CR 400W to CR 100N.
The closure is anticipated to start March 23 or later.
Also, Mt. Comfort Road at CR 200N will be reduced to just two-way traffic, with no turn lanes.
Starting around May 1, a road closure on CR 200N west of Mt. Comfort Road will commence for the rest of the project.
The roundabout is anticipated to be completed by mid-June.
The roundabout is part of road improvements Hancock County is bringing to CR 200N through a collaborative agreement with Hancock Health, which also include another roundabout at CR 700W as well as an additional lane, a center boulevard, road realignment and utilities. CR 200N crosses the health care provider’s Hancock Gateway Park, which spans near Mt. Comfort Road and I-70.
