Dragon gymnasts still unbeaten

With a 101.1-99.05 victory over Westfield at The Gymnastics Company Wednesday, New Palestine’s gymnastics team improved to 4-0 in dual meets.

Sophomore JJ Fee won uneven bars (8.5) and floor exercise (9.3) and was second in the all-around competition (34.725).

Fee placed second on balance beam (8.775).

Freshmen Lynzie Stiller (32.325) and Olivia Frank (31.825) were fourth and fifth, respectively, in the all-around.

Stiller was second on bars (8.125), fourth on vault (8.425) and fifth on floor (8.275).

Frank was third on floor (8.725), and fifth on bars (7.75) and vault (8.375).

Addyson Kendall was third on bars (8.1) and fourth on beam (8.2). Chiara Polo placed fifth on beam (8.0). Rebecca Johnson placed sixth on vault (8.3).

New Palestine returns to action at Columbus North tonight.

Girls swimming

Royals split meets

Eastern Hancock’s girls swim team lost a close contest to Bishop Chatard and defeated Richmond in meets held Jan. 12 and Tuesday, respectively, at Eastern Hancock.

On Jan. 12, the Royals lost 72-65 to the Trojans. In another tight battle Tuesday, Eastern Hancock defeated the Red Devils 76-70.

The team is 14-9 on the season and will compete Saturday at the Warren Central Invitational.

Boys swimming

EH defeated twice

Eastern Hancock’s boys swim team lost competitions to Bishop Chatard and Richmond held Jan. 12 and Tuesday, respectively, at Eastern Hancock.

On Jan. 12, against the Trojans, Eastern Hancock lost 83-48. Against the Red Devils, the Royals lost 123-38.

The team is 3-17 on the season and will compete Saturday at the Warren Central Invitational.
