Churches, community centers hosting blood drives

MCCORDSVILLE – Several blood drives are scheduled for the McCordsville area this month.

The Vernon Township Fire Department will host a blood drive 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Dec. 3 at 600 Vitality Drive, Fortville.

The McCordsville United Methodist Church will host a drive from 2:30-6 p.m. Dec. 15 at 6247 W. Broadway St., McCordsville.

The Bay Creek East Blood Drive is 2-6 p.m. Dec. 28 at 9895 N. Anchor Bend, McCordsville. Hancock County Wellness Center will host a blood drive 2-6 p.m. Dec. 29 at 8505 N. Clearview Drive, McCordsville.

Pets may have photos with Santa

GREENFIELD – Get your pet’s photo taken with Santa and support a local cause Sunday, Dec. 4.

Partners for Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.) and Greenfield Parks and Recreation are partnering for an event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Shelter House in Riley Park Dec. 4. Friendly, vaccinated animals are welcome to come to the event for a photo that includes a digital image and a cardboard frame. Cost is $15, cash or card.

Candlelight memorial service scheduled

FOUNTAINTOWN – Bell Mortuary and Crematory will host a Community Candlelight Memorial Service to remember those who are missed this holiday season at 3 p.m. Dec. 17.

Reserve a spot by Dec. 5 to receive a keepsake ornament with a loved one’s name, date of birth and date of death on it. The service will be at 1444 W. U.S. 52, Fountaintown. For questions, call 317-850-2995 or 317-861-6153.

DR seeks pet photos

GREENFIELD – The Daily Reporter is seeking photos of local pets in the community. Cats, dogs, farm friends and more will be highlighted in a page featuring news and health information about animals. To share a photo, email [email protected] with “Pet page” in the subject line. Include your name, your pet’s name, and a brief description of your pet and why he or she is a special member of the family.

G-CHS bazaar this weekend

GREENFIELD – The Greenfield-Central High School Holiday Bazaar is 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 3, offering local residents an opportunity to shop among local crafters and vendors while also benefiting high school students.

The event, at the high school, raises money for school groups. Santa will be at the library from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and food will be sold on site. Admission is free.
