Shriners recognize longtime members

Gray. Vosmek, the club’s current president, received his 50-year certificate of being a mason and his 50-years pin. Gray received his 50-year past presidents certificate and a pin from Indiana Grand Secretary Richard Elman. Both are members of Hancock Lodge 101.

James Robert “Bob” Wortman was also recognized for having received his Caleb B. Smith Medal of Honor Sept. 7, having been active in the lodge and masonic fraternity for more than 63 years.

The annual Christmas Dinner and Officer Installation of the Hancock County Shrine Club will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 6 at Hancock Lodge No. 101. The dinner is $20 per person; dessert and beverage are included. Officer installation begins at 7 p.m.. Reserve a spot by Nov. 29 to Jim Vosmek, 317-442-2696.

Santa brunch at Elks Saturday

GREENFIELD – Greenfield Elks will host brunch with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.

The Elks lodge is located at 820 S. State St., Greenfield. The event is free and open to the public; it will include games, activities and prizes. Parents are encouraged to take their own pictures.

Chambers to host parties, events

HANCOCK COUNTY – Local Chamber groups are planning Christmas get-togethers and events to promote business and networking.

Coming up for the Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce is the annual Jingle Mingle event with food, music, a silent auction and networking. The event is 5:30-8 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Chamber building on the courthouse plaza. The Chamber is seeking donations for the silent auction. The New Pal Chamber will host its Christmas dinner at 6 p.m. Dec. 6 and will sponsor the New Pal Chamber Christmas Walk Dec. 10. Vendor opportunities are available at town hall from 2-6 p.m. leading up to festivities at Winterfest at Depot Street; Chamber members can have vendor space for free.
