GREENFIELD – Organizers of the Lisa Muegge Feast of Plenty community Thanksgiving outreach have announced an unprecedented amount of requests for groceries along with hot meals.

People who would like to donate a bag of groceries to a local family in need should visit feastofplentyoutreach.com/grocery-donations. As many as 800 to 1,000 bags of groceries will be needed to go with hot Thanksgiving Day meals. Each bag should contain a specific list of nonperishable items like peanut butter, pasta sauce, beans and more. Visit the website for the list and to sign up. The site also offers information on requesting meals or donating money toward the project.

Bags should be donated at the Hancock County 4-H Fairgrounds between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, or 8-10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24.
