Trick or Treat for Riley Monday

GREENFIELD – Trick or Treat for Riley, the annual event where local junior and high school students host areas throughout Greenfield-Central High School for children to trick or treat, is scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24.

Costumed students in sixth grade and younger are welcome; all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The event, which includes face painting, games and haunted houses, is free. Student council members will be collecting free-will donations for Riley Children’s Hospital.

Free veterans luncheon scheduled

GREENFIELD – A free luncheon honoring service and sacrifice will be provided to Hancock County veterans and military members.

The Brandywine Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host two seatings of a lunch at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at NineStar Connect Conference Center, 2243 E. U.S. 40. Hoosier author to speak at local event

GREENFIELD – Hoosier author Dr. Lori Goss-Reaves will share from her book “Kiss Lori for Me” at a public event at 1 p.m. Oct. 29.

The book is described as a “Vietnam corpsman’s sacrifice, his widow’s undying love, and their daughter’s quest to find the truth.” Goss-Reaves is the daughter in the book.

The free event is at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main St., Greenfield.
