GREENFIELD — Book donations are needed for students whose schools were devastated by the recent heavy flooding in Kentucky.

Children in Hazard, Kentucky, lost their high school and elementary school. Students have been moved into a formerly closed elementary school, but don’t have a library.

Hancock County Hoosier Helpers is seeking donations of age-appropriate books. All books for young and older kids are needed, but multiple copies of the same book or classroom sets are most needed.

Donations can be dropped off in the narthex at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield. Donations can also be dropped off at any Hancock County fire station.

Those who live outside Hancock County and are willing to help collect books are encouraged to call Jim Snellenberger at 463-233-4500.
