Peggy (Hill) Wickliff Johnson, age 87, of Clermont, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. She was born in Arlington, Indiana on April 29, 1935, to Mary (Sharpe) and Ralph Hill. She was the third of six children with loving parents and a happy childhood. Peggy graduated from Arlington High School in 1952. On January 29, 1953, she married Chester Don Wickliff. They moved to Greenfield Indiana where they established roots and raised their family. After his passing, Peggy married Richard William Johnson on June 30, 1985, and moved to Kokomo, Indiana, where she happily lived for over 30 years. She ultimately settled in Clermont, FL, to be near family.

Peggy began her working career at Fort Harrison Finance Center in Indianapolis, and retired from Western Electric in 1985. She was a lifelong member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She was a devout Christian and enjoyed participating in church activities. She recently shared that she was saved at a church camp revival as a teen and baptized in the river. She loved reading, traveling, music, senior activities, and spending time with her family.

Peggy was a warm, kind, and gentle soul who was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sweet friend. She is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. She is survived by her children, Karen Wickliff Haden, Bruce Wickliff, Diane (Rudy) Wickliff Pedraza, and Denise (Al) Wickliff Craig; Step-children, Diane (Joseph) Johnson Dibble, and Dave (Carey) Johnson; grandchildren, Stephanie (Shannon) Jarrett, Angela Pedraza, Amanda (William) Pedraza Niepert, Jenson Pedraza, Joseph Pedraza, Breanna (Nathaniel) Pedraza Espinoza, Jessica Craig, Sarah Craig, Katelyn (Logan) Craig Workman, Kyle (Tereza) Wickliff, Stacie Wickliff, Kent (Kristal) Bickle, Kasey(Lisa) Bickle, Maggie (Kovan) Johnson Riddle; 22 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Frederick Hill and Marjorie (Hill) McDaniel. She was preceded in death by her parents; Ralph and Mary Hill; first husband, Chester Wickliff; second husband, Richard Johnson; daughter-in-law, Annette (Yancey) Wickliff; siblings, Don Hill, Lawrence Hill, and Evelyn (Hill) Cole; and grandsons, Greg Jarrett and Jonah Pedraza.

Peggy Johnson’s life and legacy of love will be celebrated on Friday, October 7, 2022. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
