The Indiana High School Athletic Association announced pairings for its boys and girls soccer tournaments Sunday.

Sectional tournaments will run Oct. 3 through Oct 8.

Shelbyville is the host of the boys Class 3A Sectional 12 seven-team tournament, which includes Greenfield-Central, Mt. Vernon and New Palestine.

New Palestine is the host for the girls Class 3A Sectional 12 six-team event that includes the county’s three soccer-playing schools.

Dates and times have not been set, but area teams know the route they will have to take for a sectional title.

On the boys side, all seven teams have winning records. East Central is the defending champion.

Match 1 has Greenfield-Central (9-1-2) taking on host Shelbyville (8-6-1). Match 2 will include Connersville (11-3-1) and Richmond (6-5-2). Match 3 is a rematch of last year’s championship game with Mt. Vernon (8-5) taking on East Central (10-2-1). In Match 4, New Palestine (8-6) will take on the Greenfield-Central vs. Shelbyville winner. The championship will be between the Match 3 and Match 4 winners.

East Central (9-3-1) is the defending champion of the girls tournament, too. Five of the six teams have plus-.500 records.

The reigning champ will take on Greenfield-Central (7-6-1) in the tournament’s first contest.

Match 2 has Shelbyville (11-1) taking on Richmond (4-8). Match 3, the first semifinal, has the Match 1 winner taking on the Match 2 winner. The second semifinal will have two county teams going head-to-head with Mt. Vernon (9-4) playing New Palestine (9-3-1).

The Marauders beat the Dragons in a regular-season matchup on penalty kicks.

Both boys and girls Sectional 12 champions advance to Regional 6 and will host the winner of Sectional 11 in a semifinal contest.

On the boys side, Sectional 11 is a seven-team tournament that includes Perry Meridian, Lawrence Central, Cathedral, Southport, Warren Central, Lawrence North and tournament host Tech.

On the girls side, Sectional 11 consists of six schools. All are the same as the boys tournament minus Tech. The girls Sectional 11 tournament is hosted by Warren Central.

Regional semifinals in the boys tournament will be played Wednesday, Oct. 12. The girls semis will be played Thursday, Sept. 13.

The regional championship game is Oct. 15 at Carmel. The Carmel Regional champion will play in the South Semi-State Oct. 22 at either Evansville North or Seymour.

The state finals are scheduled for Oct. 28-29 at Michael Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium in Indianapolis.
