One killed in Cumberland shooting

CUMBERLAND — Officials with the Cumberland Police Department are investigating a shooting that left one person dead after three people were shot Wednesday night at a Marion County gas.

The shooting victim has been identified as Daeshua Lamont Reese, 29, officials from the Cumberland Police Department said.

Officils were called to the scene with reports of shots fired in the gas station parking lot shortly after 7:10 p.m. Wednesday. Medics were called shortly after to the Speedway gas station, 965 N. German Church Road, located at the intersection of East 10th Street in Cumberland.

Cumberland Police Chief Suzanne C. Crooke-Woodland said officials believe they have the people who were involved in the shooting in custody, but they are still reviewing video and obtaining witness statements in the ongoing investigation.

Cumberland is a town of 6,100 which straddles the border of Marion and Hancock counties.
