“Rocktember” event slated for Cumberland

CUMBERLAND – Head to Cumberland this Saturday, Sept. 24 for food trucks and free, outdoor rock music 6-10 p.m. That ’90s Band will perform, followed by headliner, Crush, a Bon Jovi tribute band.

The stage is located at 11623 E. Washington St., east of town hall and north of Honors Park. The event is a spin-off of the Beer, Blues and BBQ summer concert series.

Country Summer to give concert

NEW PALESTINE – Local band Country Summer will perform in New Palestine’s final Music on Depot concert of the season.

The free event is 6-9 p.m. at 11 E. Main St., New Palestine. There are food and drinks available for the whole family; a beer garden is for ages 21 and older.

Entertainment scheduled for Ricks this week

GREENFIELD – Several events are scheduled this weekend at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts, 122 W. Main St., Greenfield.

The Manhattan Short Film Festival is at 7 p.m. today; people may view films and vote for their favorite. The 25th annual festival is taking part in more than 400 venues across the globe. For more, visit manhattanshort.com

Jason Ringenberg and Kevin Stonerock perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23; doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at eventbrite.com.

Harvest of Quilts Show set

GREENFIELD – Common Threads Quilt Guild will host a quilt show this week, Sept. 23-24.

The “Harvest of Quilts Show” will be at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, and is open to the public with $7 admission. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. Quilts will be on display, as well as vendors and scissor sharpening.

A quilt will be raffled to benefit Women Helping Women. Chances are $1 or six for $5. For more, visit commonthreadsin.com.
