Featured Match Day participant: Nameless Creek Camp

Executive director: Jerry Bell

Mission: NCC’s mission is to increase the appreciation of nature and the enjoyment of the outdoors by creating year-round recreational, educational and camping opportunities for the youth, families and the communities of Hancock and surrounding counties.

Community offerings: Over 12 years the camp has been completely renovated with the addition of a hall, tractor barn, and 3,600-square-foot lodge. The facilities provide indoor and outdoor space for learning, fun and experiential education through meetings, leadership, specialized training and unlimited opportunity. The annual Plug into Nature (PIN) Camp is a five-day summer camp experience for youth in grades 3-5. The camp provides activities such as sports and games, nature trail/creek exploration, arts and crafts, and more. These activities not only allow the campers to enjoy the outdoors and learn new skills, but also teaches leadership, teambuilding and social skills.

Match Day funding plans: The proportional grant dollars would be added to the capital fund budget to assist in utilities, grounds and building maintenance, program development and expenses. The board of directors compiles an ongoing list of projects to keep the camp in top shape annually. Examples would be to improve heating/cooling systems in all buildings; continue to improve roadways and added parking spaces; or repair and upgrade mowing and motorized equipment.
