Mission Celebration set for Sept. 18
GREENFIELD — Mission Celebration is an annual event to highlight ministry happening locally and globally. The congregation of Trinity Park United Methodist Church commits each year to Faith Promise giving to support the various types of work. Anyone interested in hearing the mission updates, though, is welcome to attend. The church is located at 207 W. Park Ave.
Services are at 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Sept. 18, with keynote speaker Ken Vance, missionary to Zambia. Children ages 3 and older meet in Room 10 with Crystal Baker along with John and Beth Muehlheisen and Lazarus.
At 10 a.m., the Muehlheisens will speak to the church’s Faith Groups. They have served as missionaries in Kenya and Uganda, and John is now vice president of global strategy and training for World Gospel Mission in Marion.
The services will also feature music by Indiana Wesleyan University Praise Team.

Fortville churches plan community night of worship
FORTVILLE — Leaders of Fortville Christians Unite, a group of Fortville-area churches collaborating on shared service and worship opportunities, have planned an community evening of worship at 5 p.m. Sept. 18, outdoors at Landmark Park, 216 E. Staat St., Fortville.
The service runs from 5-6 p.m. Worshipers should bring lawn chairs. Musicians from various churches will lead worship.
An after party from 6-7 will feature bounce houses, ice cream, games for youth groups from various churches, and time to eat a bring-your-own picnic or buy food from several food trucks present.
Blood drive is Sept. 19

Curry’s Chapel plans hog roast
GREENFIELD — Curry’s Chapel Church will have a hog roast from 4-7 p.m. Sept. 17 at the church, 3488 N. County Road 375E, Greenfield. Free-will donations will be accepted.
Harvest of Talents to raise money for feeding programs
FORTVILLE — The sixth annual Harvest of Talents fundraiser is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 10) at Fortville Christian Church, 9450 N. County Road 200W.
The event raises money for International Disaster Emergency Service feeding programs in Haiti, India, Kenya, Kosovo, Myanmar and Tanzania.
Decor, furniture and other items will be for sale. A silent auction will feature gift cards from area businesses.
A live auction takes place at 2:30 p.m. under a tent outside.
Breakfast will be available at 9 a.m. and lunch at 11:30 a.m.
Car show registration runs from 9 a.m. to noon, with awards given at 3 p.m. Entry fee is $20.
Humana will have a truck at the car show with information about Medicare options.

Winter coat giveaway set
GREENFIELD — A free winter coat giveaway will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17.

Pet Blessing is Sept. 18
McCORDSVILLE — A Pet Blessing is planned for 6 p.m. Sept. 18 at Christ Presbyterian Church, 7879 Carroll Road, McCordsville.

Willow Branch dinner to return
WILLOW BRANCH — Willow Branch United Methodist Church’s annual Fall Dinner is set for 4-7 p.m. Sept. 24 at the church, 6422 N. Thomas St.
The menu features cube steak for $15, chicken and noodles for $12, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, a variety of homemade salads, desserts and drink.
Children 5 years and younger eat free.
Proceeds from the dinner will benefit local mission projects.
Fashion show to aid children’s ministries
GREENFIELD — World Renewal International will sponsor a fashion show at 3 p.m. Oct. 2 at Cynthia’s Hallmark to benefit children’s ministries.
World Renewal, with headquarters in Hancock County, “is an independent interdenominational global ministry empowering local indigenous leaders to fulfill the Great Commission,” according to a press release about the event.
World Renewal is located on five continents, in 51 countries, and feeds 500 children daily. It also supports two orphanages in Haiti.
Tickets to the fashion show are $10 each. Refreshments will be served, free scarfs will be given, and “major discounts will be available,” according to the release. Call 317-467-9899 for tickets.
‘Back 2 Church’ congregations invite worshipers
GREENFIELD — Brown’s Chapel Wesleyan Church would like to invite everyone in the community to National Back 2 Church Sunday on Sept. 18.
Back 2 Church Sunday started in 2009 as a call to action and invitation – action for the church, and invitation for the world.
“Each year since then, the third Sunday in September has been designated as a day to encourage everyone to attend a Bible-based church in their area, and for church leaders to create a welcoming, inviting environment for their visitors,” the church said in a release. “The Brown’s Chapel Wesleyan Church family stands ready to welcome everyone, just as they are, and invites them to come to experience our community of faith.”
