Local officials and others involved in the Vernon Township Fire Department station coming to McCordsville pose for a ground-breaking ceremony on Thursday. The township closed on $7.12 million bonds in November for the new 24/7 station, which will be located at Mt. Comfort Road and CR 900N. Construction will start in August 2022. It’s estimated that the project will be finished about a year after construction starts. The completion date is dependent on the availability of materials and workforce.
