GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Humane Society recently got a boost of donations from a local troop of girls.

Junior Girl Scout Troop 888 finished their Bronze Award project in June by delivering goods to the animal organization located in Greenfield. The girls made 40 cat blankets and 37 thank-you bags to send home with people who adopt a cat.

They also donated 550 pounds of litter, 113 pounds of dry food, 308 cans of wet food, 63 mice toys and more.

The group is a mixture of students from three counties, including some from Hancock County, said troop leader and McCordsville resident Heidi Hetue.
