The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection reports.

April 27

O’Charley’s

1993 N. State St., Greenfield

Violations found: Debris build-up on floors under equipment in kitchen, to be corrected by May 4; NC – debris build-up on some equipment, legs of equipment, containers on rollers, to be corrected by May 4; NC – hand washing sink in women’s restroom did not reach 100 degrees, to be corrected by May 4; NC – some lights not working in kitchen and back room, to be corrected by June 1; NC – some tiles on floor in kitchen are cracked, broken or missing, to be corrected by July 1; NC – faucet of mop sink is leaking, to be corrected by June 1.

Casey’s General Store

Violations found: C – one spray bottle not labeled that has a chemical substance, corrected; NC – need thermometers in all reach-in coolers that are accurate, to be corrected by May 1.

Wasabi Japanese Steak House

1505 N. State St., Greenfield

Violations found: NC, R – some debris in corners, along edges on floor in server area, under wok table, under dish machine and in storage room, to be corrected by May 2; NC, r – need to provide paper towels at hand sink in kitchen, to be corrected by May 2; C – need to have certified food handler for establishment, to be corrected by May 31; NC, R – some debris on table in kitchen area, dish tables and pans need to be cleaned to remove debris, to be corrected by May 2; C – mouse droppings observed in dry storage area, dead roaches also observed, to be corrected by May 2; C – hand sink not working in employee restroom, employees will need to use customer restroom until repaired, corrected; NC – remove items unnecessary to the operation or maintenance of the establishment, to be corrected by May 6.

Violations found: NC – some food and debris splattered on wall in a few places in kitchen, to be corrected by May 16; NC – debris build-up in pizza oven and bread stick proofers, debris build-up on some spray bottles and flour shaker, food debris on a few mesh wire pizza grates, to be corrected by May 16.

Violations found: NC – dish soap not dispensing at dish machine, corrected; C, r – shell eggs in back room are above 41 degrees, corrected; NC – spray nozzle and hand sink attachments are leaking, corrected.

Violations found: NC, r – walk-in cooler has leak at ceiling, cracked tile, seal broken, to be corrected by July 1; NC – leak at drain at hand sink nearest grill, to be corrected by July 1;NC – lights not working in area of grill, to be corrected by July 1; C – debris on some utensils in drawer where they are considered clean, corrected.
