GREENFIELD
Barbara Kaye Sturm passed away on June 11, 2022 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Greenfield. She was born Barbara Kaye Thomas on December 22, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Virgil and Frances Thomas.
Barbara married Charles Sturm on November 21, 1958. Together they had four children, Lyn Polston of Greenfield, Stephanie (Phillip) Huber of Greenfield, Thomas Sturm (deceased) and William Sturm of Greenfield, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Sadly, Chuck passed in 2009.
Barb graduated from Greenfield High School in 1957 and went on to earn a B.A. degree from Indiana University and an M.A. from IUPUI in education. She taught middle school English and Literature in the Greenfield and Lawrence Township school systems, retiring in 1998.
A lifelong Greenfield resident, Barb was a member of Bradley United Methodist Church. A lover of music, she put that passion to use by singing in the church choir and playing the organ and the piano.
