NEW PALESTINE – Zion Lutheran School students participated in a two-mile walk May 13 to raise money for Zion Athletics and the school’s mission of the month.

The Walkathon had Zion students in grades kindergarten through eighth raising money for the athletic program to help hire officials, purchase equipment and pay tournament fees, which was needed after two years of COVID protocols and limited spectators at sporting events that affected the program’s main source of funding.

The event also raised funds for the school’s Mission of the Month, the National Youth Gathering. The school is sending 28 youth and six adults to this year’s gathering in Houston, Texas.

About $5,840 has been raised toward the $6,500 goal. Those still wanting to donate may visit secure.qgiv.com/event/warriwalk-a-t20/donate.
