The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection reports.

Feb. 11

Snapper’s Bar and Grill

1514 N. State St., Greenfield

Violations found: NC, R – need to repair drain line, very strong urine smell in men’s restroom and sewer smell in women’s restroom, to be corrected by Feb. 28; NC, R – repair holes in wall by mop sink and under three-compartment sink, to be corrected by Feb. 28; C – gloves need to be changed after touching raw meat and before touching spice shakers and oil container, corrected.

China Inn Li Inc.

1274 N. State St., Greenfield

Violations found: C – foods out in kitchen with temperatures from 62 to 68 degrees while chicken needs to be held at 135 degrees or higher or 41 degrees or lower, corrected; C – all food contact surfaces of equipment such as bowls, knives, cutting boards need to be washed, rinsed and sanitized, corrected; NC – non-food contact surface of sheet pain in walk-in cooler has debris, to be corrected by Feb. 18; C – food contact surface of knife stored on magnetic strip has debris, do not store food contact utensils with non-food contact equipment such as screwdrivers and wrenches.

Violations found: C – corned beef is date marked with an expiration that exceeds seven days, corrected; NC – debris, grease build-up under fryers, to be corrected by Feb. 22; NC – temperature-measuring device holding sliced deli meats not accurate, to be corrected by Feb. 22; C – drains at three-compartment sink and bakery dish machine need to have air gap, drain line cannot be directed connected to the sewer drain line, to be corrected by Feb. 22; NC – dish machine in bakery area has temperature measuring device not working, to be corrected by Feb. 22.

Violation found: NC – floor tiles are cracked or missing in kitchen, to be corrected by June 1.

Los Agaves Grill

Violations found: C, R – dish machine not getting surface to 160 degrees and is therefore not sanitizing, use three-compartment sink until repaired; NC, R – need to provide test strips for sanitizers, to be corrected by Feb. 25; NC – repair walls where holes have developed; NC – wastewater from mops needs to be disposed of in mop sink not outside; NC – need to install food prep sink of not able to use sanitizing compartment of three-compartment sink for food prep.

Chicago’s Pizza

1031 N. State St., Greenfield

Violation found: NC – debris build-up on wall behind storage rack and tray rack, to be corrected by March 8.

Violations found: C, R – some sliced deli meats not date-marked properly, corrected; NC – debris build-up on floor of walk-in cooler/freezer, to be corrected by March 4; NC – door release inside walk-in freezer in deli area not working, to be corrected by March 4; NC – column in meat-cutting room needs repaired, to be corrected by March 31.

Pizza Hut

1010 N. State St., Greenfield

Violations found: C – debris build-up on back door handle to cooler opposite pizza oven, to be corrected by March 2; NC – seal on freezer door deteriorated, allowing dirt to collect and ice to form in seal, to be corrected by March 23; NC – debris build-up on walls behind pizza cutting station, shelving below pizza and grease on all surfaces surrounding deep fryer, to be corrected by March 9; NC – boxes of food stored on floor in freezer, to be corrected by March 2.
