INDIANAPOLIS – Several Hancock County students served as Senate pages in February and met State Sen. Michael Crider, R-Greenfield.

Pages spent a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

Addison and Reagan Bowers of Indianapolis served; Addison attends New Palestine High School while Reagan attends New Palestine Junior High School.

Mt. Vernon Middle School students Elizabeth Genrich and Corinne Morris served as pages; both are McCordsville residents.

Eastern Hancock Middle School students Caden Powers and Christian Whisman also served; Powers is a Knightstown resident while Whisman is a Greenfield resident.

“The Senate Page program is a great way for students from Senate District 28 to learn about their state government,” Crider said. “I enjoyed meeting Hoosier students and welcoming them to the Statehouse, as well as answering any questions they have about the legislative process.”

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
