‘American Spirit’ choir concert set

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Children’s Choir will present “Forging the American Spirit” at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 2.

The concerts will explore the hard work, ingenuity, fun and grit that has characterized the citizens of the United States.

The events will be at Park Chapel Christian Church, 1176 E. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for students and seniors; visit hancockcountychildrenschoir.org for more or to reserve a seat.

Country Vintage Market planned

GREENFIELD – Hancock County Extension Homemakers will host its annual Country Vintage Market 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday April 2.

Greek cooking demonstration set

GREENFIELD – Learn about cooking with Greek herbs in a demonstration April 7 by the Hancock County Herb Society.

The program is presented by Ellen Manolopoulos and will feature multiple Greek dishes. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at Lizabuth Ann’s Kitchen, located behind the James Whitcomb Riley Boyhood Home, 250 W. Main St., Greenfield. Portrait show coming to Twenty North

GREENFIELD – “More Than Face Value” will be the show featured at the Twenty North Gallery in the month of April, showcasing Indiana members of the Portrait Society of America. Portraits of a variety of subjects will be at 20 featured at 20A N. State St. in downtown Greenfield. The public is invited to the opening reception at 6:30 p.m. April 8. A special event is also scheduled for April 9 when artists will be creating portraits of “local celebrities” like Mayor Chuck Fewell and Jon Burroughs, a James Whitcomb Riley impersonator.

Nature walk planned for preserve

GREENFIELD – An educational walk through Thornwood Nature Preserve is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2. The in-person, outside field trip will be led by Elaine Whitefield, master gardener association member, and Joe Whitfield, master gardener association member and employee of Greenfield Parks Department.
