HANCOCK COUNTY — Walmart is back in compliance with the county for the tax break the company’s getting for the large warehouse it’s building at County Roads 500N and 500W.

County officials reported earlier this week that the company filed the necessary compliance paperwork. Walmart hadn’t turned it in last year following the warehouse’s partial assessment, prompting the county to tell the company last month that it had 30 days to file or would lose the tax break.

The real property tax abatement gradually phases in the taxes for the over 2.2-million-square-foot warehouse over 10 years.
