James D. “Jim” Woodcock, 78, a resident of Greenfield passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born December 8, 1943 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Carlie and Major (Kitchens) Woodcock.

Jim retired from Ford Motor Company in 2004 after 25 years of service as a tool maker. He had also been an auctioneer for about 25 years. Jim enjoyed gun collecting, working on engines and traveling, especially to national parks and the ocean. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Jackson.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years: Marlene (Pendlum) Woodcock, whom he married June 16, 1962; two sons: Bryan (Tina) Woodcock of Chandler, AZ and Jacob “Jake” (Lori) Woodcock of Brownsburg; his grandson: Jackson Woodcock; two granddaughters: Krystan (Evan) Henderson and Kaitlyn Woodcock; two brothers: Exel Woodcock of Mooresville and JR (Marilyn) Woodcock of Lebanon, TN; a sister: Lillie (Dave) Golay of Carmel; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Jesse Woodcock.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Marc Monte officiating. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
