Rep Bob Cherry: How to follow your legislature

The 2022 legislative session is off to a quick start. Proposals for new bills are being filed, committees are meeting and the Indiana General Assembly is working hard on legislation to benefit Hoosiers across the state. As we address a number of issues, it’s important to stay connected during this exciting time.

My neighbors in Hancock and Madison counties can stay connected with me by emailing [email protected] or calling 317-232-9651. You can also visit in.gov/h53 and sign up to receive my email newsletter, which is a great way to stay updated on my work this session and news from our community and state.

At iga.in.gov, proposals for new laws can be tracked through the legislative process. Votes, committee agendas and amendments can all be viewed on the website. Livestreams of the House session and committee hearings can also be viewed online.

From jobs to tax cuts and from education to public safety, our work at the Statehouse will impact Indiana and our local communities in several positive ways. As co-author of House Bill 1001, I want to protect Hoosiers’ jobs and strengthen medical and religious exemptions when businesses require the COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of employment. The bill would also allow Gov. Eric Holcomb’s state public health emergency to expire.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve House District 53, and I look forward to working hard for our community and state.

Rep Bob Cherry, R-Greenfield, represents most of Hancock County in the Indiana House of Representatives.
