The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection reports.

Oct. 12

Huck’s Convenience Food and Fuel

Violations found: NC – scoop for popcorn needs to be on clean surface, not on top of dusty popcorn machine, to be corrected by Oct. 30; NC – walk-in cooler has debris build-up on ceiling, to be corrected by Oct. 30.

Violation found: C – no hand sink present in bar area, to be corrected by Dec. 1.

Lincoln Square Pancake House

118 W. Main St., Greenfield

Violations found: C, R – food in holding cabinet is below 135 degrees, butter in waitress areas needs to have ice up the sides of the container to keep it cold, corrected; C – employee observed touching raw meat with food-handling gloves then about to touch ready-to-eat food, corrected.

Violations found: NC – Debris on floors and wall behind glazing area, to be corrected by Nov. 20; NC – debris build-up on mixer, roller units for bins of sugar and flour, roofer and shelving, to be corrected by Nov. 11; C – debris on racks that hold donuts that were labeled clean, corrected; C – no sanitizer detected in sanitizing solution at three-compartment sink, corrected; NC – no soap at hand sink in restroom, to be corrected by Oct. 22; NC – need to install mop sink provided with hot and cold water, floor drain, to be corrected by Nov. 20.
