Fire badly damages rural home

HANCOCK COUNTY — A fire severely damaged a one-story ranch in the 5200 block of West County Road 200N Saturday, Sept. 11. Firefighters were dispatched at around 12:37 p.m. to the scene. No one was home at the time of the fire. Multiple fire departments responded with tanker trucks to haul in water. The fire was under control in about an hour and a half, and firefighters remained on scene for another several hours. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
