Guest speakers to visit Trinity Park

GREENFIELD — World Gospel Mission’s Mark and Bev Donahue, missionaries to Paraguay, will speak in both services Sunday at Trinity Park United Methodist Church.

Services begin at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Churches collaborate to pack meals for hungry

NEW PALESTINE — Several area churches will work together at Pack Away Hunger’s Eastside Meal Pack, set for Aug. 21 at New Palestine United Methodist Church, 3565 S. County Road 500W.

The plan is to pack 50,000 meals for children and families in need.

Breakfast includes gift card drawing

McCORDSVILLE — The next community breakfast at McCordsville United Methodist Church is set for 7:30 to 10 a.m. Aug. 21 at the church, 6247 W. Broadway, McCordsville.

There will be a drawing for a gift card.

The meal, sponsored by the church’s United Methodist Men, features various breakfast favorites. Free-will donations are accepted.

Mt. Lebanon fish fry is Aug. 21

HANCOCK COUNTY — Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church plans its fish fry from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21.

The menu will include fried fish, French fries, hush puppies, coleslaw, beverage and brownies.

Hot dogs and carryout are available.

A free-will donation will be accepted with the proceeds benefiting missions and special projects.

The church is located at 3447 S. State Road 9, Greenfield.

Author to sign copies of book on revival

GREENFIELD — Gary Wright will speak and sign copies of “He Just Showed Up! An Eyewitness to Revival” at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. He will appear as part of the library’s Local Author Showcase series.

Wright will read passages from his work, which appeals to those interested in church history, Indiana religious history, and the intentional practice of renewal.

As a special feature, Hancock County Historian Joseph L. Skvarenina will engage Wright in a dialogue of stories and topics that relate to the local area, such as the John T. Hatfield Camp in Cleveland just east of Greenfield.

Community picnic set for Sunday

GREENFIELD — Brown’s Chapel Wesleyan Church presents Community Picnic in the Park at noon Sunday at the Riley Park Pavilion. It is free and open to everyone.

The church will provide hamburgers and hot dogs, drinks and table service. Plans include corn hole, bocce ball, yard Yahtzee and more.
