Atkins Nutritionals moving into distribution center

HANCOCK COUNTY — Atkins Nutritionals will occupy a 862,235-square foot build-to-suit warehouse and distribution center under construction on the Mt. Comfort Corridor.

Opus Development Company, a Minneapolis firm with an Indianapolis office, is constructing the building near the southeast corner of county roads 700W and 300N. According to Opus’ website, the building is slated for completion in August and will have 25,000 square feet of office space and about 837,000 square feet for warehousing and distribution. The building will also have the ability to expand to up to 332,000 square feet.

Bradley Company, a real estate firm with offices in Indianapolis as well as throughout Indiana, Michigan and Ohio, identified Atkins Nutritionals as the occupant in a news release. Atkins Nutritionals did not return a request for comment. The company is associated with the well-known Atkins diet and promotes food products associated with a low-carbohydrate lifestyle, according to its website.

To the south of the site, Opus Development and New York-based Clarion Partners are developing Point 70 Logistics Park, which will feature 802,907-square foot and 298,823-square foot industrial buildings scheduled for completion in summer 2022. Both properties are speculative, meaning occupants have yet to be identified. Space also exists in the park for another 802,907-square foot building.
