Teens can make a cat mat

GREENFIELD/NEW PALESTINE – Teens age 13 through 18 can pick up a take-and-make cat mat kit during open library hours on June 7 at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield, or the New Palestine Branch Library at 5731 West U.S. Highway 52, New Palestine. The kits include everything you need to complete the project including fabric, needle, thread, poly-fil and instructions. No registration necessary. One kit per participant. Teens may keep the mat for their own pet or bring it back to the children’s desk at either location for delivery to the Hancock County Humane Society or P.A.W.S. Hancock at the end of summer. HCPL offers reading programs for all ages

HANCOCK COUNTY – The Hancock County Public Library Summer Reading Program, “Tails and Tales,” opened for business on June 1. Reading programs are available for children, teens and adults. Both branches of the Hancock County Public Library — the main branch at 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield, or the New Palestine Branch Library at 5731 West U.S. Highway 52, New Palestine — will also host a series of performances, school-aged programs and story times throughout June and July. Art Camp still taking registration

GREENFIELD — Registration is open for Greenfield Parks and Recreation Art Studio Camp. Instructor Rachel Holmes will offer four four-day themed camps for kids ages 6 to 12 beginning the week of June 14. Camp for 6 to 8-year-olds will meet from 9 to 11 a.m.; camp for 9 to 12-year-olds will meet from noon to 3 p.m. Camp themes are: Nature & Art (June 14 – 17); Games & Toys (June 21 – 24); Castles, Kings & Queens (July 12 – 15); and Living the Dream (July 19 – 21).
