NEW PALESTINE — Lingering showers late Friday afternoon and uncertainty over the evening forecast prompted officials Friday to postpone New Palestine High School’s outdoor graduation ceremony to Saturday, May 29.
The commencement now will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday at Kelso Stadium at the high school. No rain is in the forecast, but the temperature will be unseasonably low — only in the 50s — when the ceremony begins.
The schedule will be identical to Friday’s, Southern Hancock schools said in a social media post late Friday afternoon, May 28. Gates will open to spectators at 5:30 p.m. Graduates should arrive at 6:15 p.m., the post said.
