Deadline nears for Will Vawter art competition

HANCOCK COUNTY — Hancock County Arts is calling for original works for the 2021 Will Vawter Juried Art Exhibition and Sale. Artists are invited to submit original work completed within the last three years. Art media accepted include oil, acrylic, watercolor and everything else 2D, with 48 inches maximum in any direction, including frames, for the show running June 11 through 26. Any artist residing in Indiana is invited to compete in this juried art show. All entries must be for sale and will be offered at your designated price throughout the exhibit. Artists can contact [email protected] for an entry to be forwarded to you. Entry deadline is May 22.

Pass Time Fabrics offers quilt workshop

GREENFIELD — Pass Time Fabrics, 28 N. East St., will offer a quilting workshop called “Turning Twenty Again” from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. May 23. The $75 registration fee covers pattern and instructions. Fabric is available for purchase at a 10 percent discount or participants can bring their own. Twenty fat quarter fabric pieces are required to get started with this quilt project. Participants should also bring a small sewing kit, seam ripper, pins and marking pencil. Portable sewing machines are optional or available on site. Hancock Arts calls for plein air painters

HANCOCK COUNTY — In conjunction with the Will Vawter Art Exhibition, Hancock County Arts invites artists to participate in a plein air painting event beginning at 8 a.m. on June 5. Register to participate at [email protected] or in person on the Courthouse lawn. Participants will receive a goody bag and a map. Completed art should be returned to the booth on the Courthouse lawn by 2 p.m. Twenty percent of all sales will benefit Hancock County Arts.
