Restaurant inspections for March 24 – 31

The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

March 24

Leo’s Market and Eatery

Location: 2212 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC – hand sink temperature needs to reach 100 degrees, to be corrected by April 30.

March 25

Hardee’s

Location: 1215 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – employee observed going from food prep line, opening door to walk-in cooler, then returning to food prep line and touching ready-to-eat food, corrected; NC/R – floors under equipment of food prep line have debris build-up, to be corrected by April 30.

Mom & Pop’s Grocery

Location: 203 S. Main St., Maxwell

Type of Inspection: Routine

No violations found.

Fortville Broadway Diner

Location: 426 E. Broadway St., Fortville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R – cheese not at temperature in cheese dispenser, corrected; NC/R – clean under refrigeration unit holding pies by salad prep area, metal cabinet holding utensils has debris, to be corrected by April 30.

Bonsai Grill

Location: 18 S. Main St., Fortville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC – provide test strips for sanitizer in dish machine, create barrier at mop sink between mop sink and cart, to be corrected by April 30; C – need to provide and use sanitizer at three-compartment sink, dirty knife stored on magnetic strip in kitchen with clean knives, corrected; NC/R – debris in third compartment at sink in bar, on hand sink/three-compartment sink juncture where dirty implements are being stored, clean knobs of hand sink and stove, to be corrected by April 1.

March 30

Qdoba Mexican Grill

Location: 2037 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – chicken in hot holding is below 135 degrees, corrected; NC/R – water at hand sink in area by three-compartment sink is not reaching 100 degrees, to be corrected by Sept. 1.

Starbucks Coffee Company

Location: 2049 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

No violations found.

Subway – Walmart

Location: 1965 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R – do not store clean knives with equipment that has not been cleaned and sanitized, corrected.
