Restaurant inspections for March 5 – 10

The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

March 5

Family Express

Location: 5964 W. Broadway St., McCordsville

Type of Inspection: Routine

No violations found.

Dragon Palace

Location: 413 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC/R – clean outsides of containers containing condiments at wok, clean containers before refilling, debris on equipment and floors in area of woks, pipes under wok and on floor under wok, to be correct by April 1; NC – repair hole in wall in hallway, to be corrected by April 1.

Papa John’s

Location: 1001 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC/R – broken tiles near walk-in cooler, to be corrected by April 5; NC – must provide thermometers in front freezer and cooler, to be corrected by April 5.

Little Caesar’s Pizza

Location: 1633 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC/R – seal on walk-in cooler door is broken, to be corrected by April 5.

March 8

Wasabi Japanese Steak House

Location: 1505 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC/R – some mold accumulated in ice machine, grease dripping from hood, debris on floor in walk-in cooler under shelving and on walls, food debris such as rise and floor on floor in dry storage area, clean containers before refilling and cover when not in use, to be corrected by April 1; NC – debris in track of reach-in cooler door in kitchen, on handles of reach-in cooler that is not working and on outside of containers that hold salt, pepper, flour and sugar, clean before refilling, to be corrected by April 1.

Waffle House

Location: 1752 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – need to have proof of certified food employee, to be corrected by March 9.

March 10

Speedway

Location: 2668 N. County Road 600 W., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC/R – build-up on floor in dish washing/back food prep area, to be corrected by April 1; C – dish machine not dispensing sanitizer, corrected; NC – dish machine needs to reach 120 degrees at wash cycle, corrected.

Subway

Location: 2668 N. County Road 600 W., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

No violations found.

Canteen Dining

Location: BWI, 989 Opportunity Pkwy., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – ham in reach-in cooler that was opened did not have date mark, corrected.
