McCORDSVILLE — No one was injured after someone shot at a vehicle early Friday in what police call a road rage incident.

Officers with the McCordsville Police Department were on a routine patrol in the area of Mt. Comfort Road and Broadway at about 1:55 a.m. when an officer heard gunshots in the area, Detective Aaron Watts told the Daily Reporter in an email.

The officer saw two vehicles speeding away, Watts continued.

“The officer stopped and checked on the victims to render aid,” Watts said. “The occupants of the vehicle were not shot and not injured, but the vehicle was struck by gunfire. The suspect vehicle fled the scene.”

The shooting stemmed from a road rage incident, Watts said, adding it was an isolated event and there was no danger to the public afterward.

Watts said no further details could be released and the investigation is ongoing. He could not be reached for further comment Friday afternoon.
