Agape reopens for camps, equine riding therapy

GREENFIELD — Agape Therapeutic Riding Resources, a nonprofit that uses horseback riding as therapy, reopened its Greenfield stables on Monday, July 13, after closing in March due to the pandemic.

Agape’s Greenfield location will offer limited services initially for up to 36 participants, according to executive director Stephanie Amick.

Agape this week is offering its Discovery Camp and therapeutic riding lessons The camp features horseback riding, crafts and other outdoor activities. Four daylong Discovery Camps are planned during July. In addition, therapeutic riding lessons help people with disabilities develop cognitive, physical, emotional and social well-being.

Agape is looking for volunteers to assist with lessons, to take care of horses, and to help maintain the barns and trails. People interested in participating in programming or in volunteering should contact Becca Spitzig at [email protected].
