NEW PALESTINE – Adults are invited to discuss Kasie West’s novel, "On the Fence," from 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Hancock County Public Library’s Sugar Creek Branch, 5731 W. U.S. Highway 52. "On the Fence" tells the story of Charlotte Reynolds, aka Charlie. Charlie, who has three older brothers, has always been more comfortable calling the shots on a basketball court than flirting with the opposite sex. So when her police officer dad demands she get a summer job to pay for the latest in a long line of speeding tickets, she’s surprised to find herself working at a chi-chi boutique and going out with a boy who has never seen her tear it up in a pickup game. Participants are encouraged to read the novel in advance. Ask for a copy at the information desk, and sign up for this free event at hcplibrary.org or 317-861-6618, ext. 311. In addition to the discussion, attendees will be treated to refreshments and some pampering for winter hands.
