I-70 lane closures will restrict traffic

HANCOCK COUNTY — Road work that began this weekend near Mt. Comfort on Interstate 70 could last until next Friday, according to the Hancock County 911 Center.

Contractors for the Indiana Department of Transportation have been deep-patching sections of Interstate 70, completed in various areas between the Mt. Comfort exit and the Indiana-Ohio border, over the past few months. Recently, crews had westbound I-70 down to one lane between Greenfield and Mt. Comfort.

Until 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, the following lane will close, according to the 911 center’s Facebook page:

I-70 westbound right lane between the 111.5 and 108.5 mile marker. This is east of Greenfield.

Until 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, the following lanes will close:

I-70 eastbound right two lanes (right lane and ramp lane) between the 95 and 96 mile markers, near the Mt. Comfort interchange.

The exit ramp from I-70 eastbound to Mt. Comfort Road.

INDOT says at least one lane will remain open during construction.
