GREENFIELD — Greenfield Church of God will be hosting a homecoming celebration Saturday, October 26 featuring a program of southern gospel performance.

The event will take place at Greenfield Central Junior High School beginning at 2 p.m. Performers will include Danny and Susan McAdams, The Rydells, Ronny Hinson of The Hinsons and The Hoppers.

Admission to the concert will be free, though donations to the church will be accepted. Concessions, including pulled pork barbeque, with be available for purchase.

The following morning, Ronny Hinson and The Hoppers will perform at the church’s 10:30 a.m. service. The church is located at 1561 E. Main Street.

Church of God pastor Jack Stout said the homecoming event is an annual celebration of the congregation’s history. He said the church’s presence in Greenfield dates back to the 1950s, and parishioners met in living rooms and basements before a physical location was built.

Decades later, Stout said, he is proud that the church is still going strong.

“It’s doing well, it’s strong, and it’s still a part of the community,” Stout said.
