Local Sgt. hired as area Army recruiter

SHELBYVILLE — Army Sgt. Thomas Revolt recently joined the U.S. Army Indianapolis Recruiting Battalion’s Metro South Company as a detailed recruiter for the Shelbyville Recruiting Center in Shelbyville.

Revolt comes to the Shelbyville Recruiting Center, from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and Headquarters Company 1st/504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, where he had been serving since 2013 as a squad leader. During his military career, Revolt also has served as a team leader for Headquarters Troop 4th/73rd Cavalry Regiment, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and with 514th Ground Ambulance Company, Fort Lewis, Washington; and as a medic for Bravo Company, 121st Combat Support Hospital in Yongsan, South Korea.

Revolt’s military awards include: two Army Commendation Medals, four Army Achievement Medals, two Good Conduct Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the NATO Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Combat Medical Badge, the Expert Field Medical Badge, the Parachutist Badge, the Marksmanship Qualification Badge — Expert, and the Recruiter Badge.

A native of Indianapolis, Revolt graduated from Greenfield-Central High School in Greenfield in 2007.
