HANCOCK COUNTY — The Hancock County Community Foundation is encouraging the community to take part in Giving Tuesday, a philanthropic response to the shopping frenzy, Black Friday.

The foundation hopes those shopping for the holidays will remember their favorite charity with a gift of any size on Tuesday, said president Mary Gibble.

The foundation distributed a “Spirit of Giving Catalog” this week through the Daily Reporter, New Palestine Press and Fortville-McCordsville Reporter. Extra copies are available at the Daily Reporter, 22 W. New Road, Greenfield, for those who missed the catalog.

“When looking for great buys, one might find a way to give back by donating to one or more of the 270 charitable funds (the foundation) stewards on behalf of our generous community,” Gibble said.

Gifts may be made by check and mailed to 312 E. Main Street or given online at www.giveHCgrowHC.org.
