GREENFIELD — Step back in time at the Blast from the Past Sock Hop from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hancock County, 715 E. Lincoln St. Five area nonprofits have joined together to create an evening of family fun featuring a 15-minute basketball game, a sock hop and retro activities such as hula-hooping and hop scotch. Attendees are encouraged to come in ’50s attire. Admission is free to this event, but donations are welcome and accepted.

GREENFIELD — Start Thanksgiving Day with a 5K and one-mile fun run along the Pennsy Trail hosted by the Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department and sponsored by Hancock Regional Hospital. The event starts at 9 a.m. Nov. 24 at the Hancock County Memorial Building, 98 E. North St. Register online at greenfieldin.org. The cost is $30 for the 5K and $25 for the Fun Run in advance at https://runsignup.com/Race/Events/IN/Greenfield/GreenfieldTurkeyDay5K. Day-of-race registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and costs $35 for the 5K and $30 for the Fun Run the day of the event. Participants are invited to dress in costume — a turkey, a pilgrim, etc. — for a chance to win a prize. Proceeds from the race go towards the purchase of more outdoor workout equipment for the Pennsy Trail.

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Soccer and D.A.R.E. — Drug Abuse Resistance Education — will conduct a 5K Run/Walk at 11 a.m. Nov. 19 at Brandywine Park, 900 E. Davis Road. Those who want to participate can register online at greenfieldin.org or greenfieldsoccer.org for a $20 registration fee. Funds raised from the event go to benefit the D.A.R.E. and Greenfield Soccer programs.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Junior League of Indianapolis presents its annual Holiday Mart Nov. 17 to 20 at the Blue Ribbon Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, 1202 E. 38th St. Admission is $15 at the door; children ages 12 and under are free.
