Brian K. Pike, 54, of Ekron, Ky., passed away on September 30, 2016, at his home in Kentucky. He was born on October 14, 1961, in Greenfield, to Phillip Pike and Charlotte (Burkett) Pike.

After completing his education, Brian started as an apprentice with the Bricklayers and Allied Local 4 IN/KY in 1988 and remained a proud union member until his death. Brian was last employed at Heimbrock, Inc. He was a hard worker, was highly regarded amongst his union brothers and sisters. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Brian was an individual who had many joys in life. He was an avid gardener, who took a lot of pride each year in being able to can and share his work with his others. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing his favorite country songs on his guitar he called, “his girl”. Brian also loved to cook, and had a “witch’s pot” out back that he would use to prepare meals for friends and family. He will be greatly missed and remembered as one of those special people that touched many lives and never knew a stranger.

Brian is survived by his mother, Charlotte (Burkett) Pike; his son, Charles (“Charlie”) Pike; sister, Amy (Pike) Ladas; nephew, Christian Ladas; nephew, Greggory Scott DeBoor; uncle, Don Morris; as well as many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Pike; and his son, Henry (“Hank”) Pike.

Visitation for Brian will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, with a Celebration of Life from 7 to 8 p.m. at Hendryx Mortuary – New Palestine Chapel, 19 East Main St., New Palestine, IN 46163. Graveside services will be held on at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 6, followed by the burial at New Palestine Cemetery.
