HANCOCK COUNTY — The public is invited to attend the Hancock County Master Gardeners monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
The featured speaker is Steve Mayer, who will speak on the care and maintenance of house plants.
Steve Mayer is extension educator-horticulture for Purdue Extension-Marion County. He has provided leadership for the extension consumer horticulture educational programs in the Indianapolis area since 1997.
He has been employed as a horticulture educator with the Cooperative Extension Service for more than 30 years.
Mayer is coordinator of the Marion County Master Gardeners program and serves as instructor for the classes. He writes for Indiana publications such as the Indianapolis Business Journal At Home Quarterly, Indianapolis Senior Life and Indiana Gardening magazine. Mayer has a bachelor’s degree and master’s in horticulture from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
The program will be conducted at the Hancock County Extension Office, located on the county fairgrounds at 802 N. Apple St., Greenfield.
A business meeting of the Hancock County Master Gardeners will follow at 7:40 p.m.
