GREENFIELD — An Anderson man was arrested Friday amid allegations he sexually molested a toddler.

Jason D. McCubbins, 32, reportedly touched a young boy Feb. 22 while he was visiting a home in Maxwell, according to charging documents.

The boy told his mother the next day that McCubbins had hurt him, according to the report. The mother reported the incident to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Child Services.

McCubbins has been charged with child molesting, a Level 4 felony, which carries a penalty of two to 12 years and up to $10,000 in fines.

McCubbins was jailed Friday and appeared before Hancock Circuit Judge Richard Culver the same day for an initial hearing. He pleaded not guilty and was released from Hancock County Jail after posting a cash bond of $3,500. He returns to court for a hearing Sept. 9.
