Loretta Greenwalt, age 71, of Greenfield, passed away on Dec. 30, 2011, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. Born on May 24, 1940, in Rochester, Ind., she was the daughter of Cecil and Helen (Royer) Kline.

Loretta attended Knightstown High School and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1958. She married Max Greenwalt on July 26, 1958, and they were happily married for 52 years until his passing on Sept. 1, 2010.

Max and Loretta founded Greenfield Builders in 1978. Along with their sons, they also founded Greenwalt Development in 1988 and established GreenTree Senior Communities in 1995. She was a member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and served on the Central Indiana District Wesleyan Church Summer Camp Board for several years. She was an accomplished seamstress and a talented pianist. Over the course of 50 years, she played the piano and organ at many church services and events. Loretta had been a member of Brown’s Chapel Wesleyan Church for almost 50 years.

Surviving are her children, Lynn (Rhonda) Greenwalt of Greenfield, Jeff (Pamela) Greenwalt of Carmel, and Dr. Jama (Randy) Davis of Fishers; brothers, Vance (Margaret) Kline and Wayne Kline; grandchildren, Tyler, Kasie, Christian, Kitty, Cole, Aaron and Sarah Greenwalt, and Ian and Amanda Davis; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Greenwalt; and brothers-in-law, Paul (Robin) Greenwalt of Greenfield and Melvin Hughes of Greensboro.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Max; sister, Glenda Hughes; and an infant brother.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Browns Chapel Wesleyan Church. Pastor Steve Bradley will be officiating and burial will take place at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
