James G. Hancock, age 53, of Pendleton, passed away suddenly on Dec. 14, 2011, at his residence. He was born July 12, 1958, and resided in Pendleton since 1987.

He grew up in Sheridan, and was an All-State football player for the Sheridan Blackhawks. Jim served his country in the US Marine Corp. He had been employed at Carmel Schools in Maintenance for several years. Jim was an avid supporter of Pendleton Heights Athletics. He enjoyed shooting guns with his son, spending quality time with his granddaughter, Addie and he was anxiously awaiting the birth of his granddaughter Maci.

 Jim enjoyed spending time with his wife whom he married Nov. 28, 1987, Terri (Rambo) Hancock; daughter, Stacey (Steven) Dollahan; son, Tyler Hancock (fiancee, Ashley Spaugy) of Pendleton; mother, Ruth (Walton) Hancock; brother, John (Donna) Hancock of Carmel; sisters, Patty (Art) Massengill of Sheridan and Glenna (Jay) Boone of Sheridan; two grandchildren, Addison Dollahan of Sheridan and Maci Hancock of Pendleton; several nieces and nephews; and his K-9 special family members, Jazzy, Tuff, Kano, Diesel, Daisy, Tonka, Casey, and Lucy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Hancock; and mother-in-law, Pat Rambo.

Visitation was from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory; 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson. Services were held at 2:30 p.m on Monday, Dec.19, 2011, at the funeral home, with Gary Meeker officiating. Cremation will take place.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the family for the grandchildren.
