John E. Dusing, age 70, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital. Born on April 12, 1941, in Rushville, he was the son of Herman and Dorothy (Hickman) Dusing.
He graduated from Rushville High School in 1958, and served in the Army reserve. John worked as a plant scientist at both Eli Lilly in Greenfield and Dow Elanco in Zionsville. He was also a part owner of Superior Tractor (formerly Hancock Co. Tractor).
Surviving him are his children, Matt, and wife Amy, Dusing of Franklin, Ind., and Maria, and husband Todd, Petrey of Mason, Ohio; former wife, Marcia (Strait) Noon; sister-in-law, Jeanette Dusing; niece, LeeAnne (Dusing) Ziegler; and two grandchildren, Hayden Petrey and Will Dusing.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother, Joe Dusing.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m., following the visitation, also at the mortuary. Deacon Wayne Davis will be officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Rushville.
