Prentiss C. Belcher, 86, Anderson, died May 3, 2011 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson, Ind. after a brief illness. He was born May 21, 1924 in Roaring Fork, Va.

Prentiss retired from City Plating in Indianapolis where he was a Crome Plater. He also served his country during WWII in the United States Army. He received the Purple Heart, Silver Star and Infantry Badge.

 He is survived by his wife whom he married on Feb. 4, 1947, Ethel Ernestine (Burke) Belcher, Children; Theresa Belcher (Randy), John M. Belcher (Karen), Billy L. Belcher, Martha J. Sexton (Ed), David M. Belcher (Robin) and Charles P. Belcher (Linda); 74 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; Marshall and Ethel (Dorton) Belcher, three brothers and two sisters.

 Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street, Anderson, IN and one hour prior to the service. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 6509 South State Road 67, Pendleton, IN, with Pastor Bob Hargis officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Indianapolis .
